The Kobo1 2013 focuses on embedded systems research and development using ubiquitous technologies like sensors and RF-ID for enhancing safety, health, and convenience in daily life. Participants explore how wearable sensors can monitor user movements, control home appliances, and provide emergency support, with a particular emphasis on supporting the elderly and individuals with disabilities.

During April, participants shared their interests and goals, with guidance from Professor Program. They were then divided into groups to tackle specific projects, such as developing a Java application to display life log data from UHI. Throughout the year, the workshop addressed challenges like setting up development environments, programming with specific tools, and debugging issues. The experience included hands-on activities like soldering for Bluetooth module creation and learning to integrate data from various sources, including Windows and Mac systems.
