Bachelor in Theatre (Associate Degree)

Canada Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Step onto the stage at the 350-seat Laura C. Muir Performing Arts Theatre, where your training moves beyond the classroom and into professional-grade production environments. This Associate of Arts degree in Theatre provides a rigorous, practical foundation for students looking to specialize in performance and production while earning credits that transfer seamlessly into the third year of bachelor's degree programs at B.C. research universities.

Integrated Production Experience

The curriculum emphasizes a hands-on approach from day one. In your first year, you will master the fundamentals of theatre history, movement, speech, and acting while gaining essential behind-the-scenes experience in box office management, publicity, and production assistance. As you advance into your second year, you will collaborate directly with professional set designers, directors, and lighting specialists on major stage productions. Whether you are aiming for a career as an actor, arts administrator, or film crew member, this program ensures you build a versatile portfolio while working in studio theatres, dance studios, and professional workshops.

Students also have the unique opportunity to participate in an optional Co-operative Education Program, alternating academic semesters with paid, full-time work to build a professional network and resume before graduation.
