The Academy Foundation Electrical Engineering program is designed for secondary school learners who want to explore a career in electrical engineering. This Level 2 program is delivered at UCOL campuses in Palmerston North, Masterton, and Whanganui. It offers a hands-on approach to learning, making it ideal for students who thrive in practical environments and seek to gain foundational skills in electrical principles.

Throughout the program, students will study essential topics such as basic magnetism, electromagnetism, electrical mathematics, and circuit concepts. They will also engage in designing and manufacturing an electronic project, all while learning to operate safely in a workshop environment. This practical experience is invaluable for preparing students for further studies or entry-level positions in the electrical engineering field.

Graduates of this program can pursue further education, such as the New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trade (Level 3). Potential job titles include Electrical Technician, Electrical Engineer, and Maintenance Technician.
