Custom skateboard designs by first year students are displayed at the Foundation Year Exhibition; such hands-on projects are the core of the Accelerated Summer Foundation Program, a 15-week intensive course that packs a full year's worth of study into a single summer. For students with a clear creative vision and a desire to reduce their cost of living, this program offers a concentrated, high-quality experience that equips students to join the second year of their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the fall. After a brief break, students will pursue additional foundation credits in their second year to meet graduation requirements.

Students in the programme can look forward to completing 21 credits through immersive studio practice, critical thinking, and collaboration, in two consecutive seven-week semesters. During this time, they will engage with core skills and conceptual tools in visual arts, building strong connections with peers and instructors while exploring new creative approaches. The program culminates in the annual Foundation Show, held at the end of the course, where students showcase their work alongside their peers.
