This certificate prepares graduates to work as activity assistants for older adults in care facilities and community settings. Students learn to plan and implement recreational programs that support wellness and quality of life. The program covers how health conditions affect participation and how to adapt activities accordingly. It includes classroom learning and two practicum experiences.

4 months, part-time, includes two practicums.

Graduates enter roles as activity assistants in intermediate and extended care facilities and community programs.

Health Care Assistant (HCA) or Home Support/Resident Care Attendant (HS/RCA) certificate, or equivalent (LPN, RN, Educational Assistant, Community Support Worker). Minimum 500 hours working in a health care facility with older adults or individuals with disabilities. Letter of employment required.

On-campus, part-time, 4 months.
