About the Program

Students create 3D models, animations, and rigging systems using industry-standard software. They work on character and creature animation, texturing, lighting, and compositing in studio and lab settings. Projects include storyboarding, body deformation, facial rigging, and scripting. They develop a professional demo reel to showcase their skills to employers.

Focus areas include 3D character and creature animation, rigging, 3D modelling and sculpting, texturing and surfacing, storyboarding, layout.

96 credits over six consecutive terms; full-time; no co-op or practicum stated.

Graduates work as 3D animators, character animators, riggers, 3D modellers, texturing and surfacing artists, storyboard artists, and layout artists.

Completion of KPU Certificate in Foundation in Entertainment Arts meets portfolio requirements. International applicants must meet English language requirements and submit a portfolio.

On-campus, full-time, two years.
