About Master in Advanced and Computational Mathematics – International Master's Programme

At Chemnitz University of Technology, the application deadline is 15 Jul · 15 Jan.

Advanced and Computational Mathematics is a four-semester Master's programme that addresses both theoretical rigour and applied problem-solving. The degree is available for entry in both the winter and summer semester, giving applicants flexibility in start date. Study opens with a solid foundation in advanced mathematics before students choose one of three specialisation tracks in the second semester: Advanced Pure Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, or Data Sciences. Alongside the specialisation modules, participants complete a seminar and a Master's thesis within their chosen area, giving the latter half of the degree a clear research and writing dimension. German language courses are included as a mandatory element of the curriculum. Students without prior German progress toward an A2 level during the programme; those who arrive with an A2 certificate can substitute advanced language courses or additional subject study instead. Students who achieve outstanding results may qualify for the PhD programme in the Faculty of Mathematics, which offers a path into scientific research and academic careers. The programme is located in Chemnitz, a city in the German state of Saxony.
