The programme runs over two years, each year split into semesters that combine classroom teaching, simulation labs and practicum placements. It builds on the Primary Care Paramedic qualification, extending knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and advanced assessment techniques. Progression moves from foundational theory in the first year to intensive clinical and field experiences in the second.

Students complete a series of nationally recognised certifications, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced International Trauma Life Support, Difficult Airway Course, Neonatal Resuscitation Program and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, alongside the Working Mind mental readiness module. These qualifications enable delivery of a broader range of medications and life-saving interventions.

The programme holds full accreditation from Accreditation Canada/EQual Canada, which permits graduates to sit the national Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators entry-to-practice exam and pursue licensure across Canada.
