Bachelor in Applied Mechatronic Systems (BEng)

Berlin, Germany Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Applied Mechatronic Systems at SRH University Berlin is a seven-semester Bachelor of Engineering programme that draws together mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science into a single integrated curriculum. Students develop technical grounding in mathematics, physics, and statistics alongside practical skills in programming, design of electromechanical systems, and implementation of control systems using microcontrollers. The programme also covers emerging areas including automotive mechatronics, robotics, machine learning, and smart manufacturing. Teaching combines agile methods, laboratory sessions, and project work with external companies. The curriculum includes language training modules in semesters three through five and coursework in embedded systems, sensor and actuator networks, imaging technologies, and IoT and cloud technologies. Two milestones of the Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Programme (SMSCP) are embedded in the course: Level 1 in the fifth semester and Level 2 in the sixth. The seventh and final semester combines a research, internship, or company project with the Bachelor's thesis. Two intakes run per year, in April and October. Applicants with foreign degrees may be eligible for direct entry and do not need to complete a foundation year before starting the programme. SRH University runs this programme at its Berlin campus, with an additional location in Heidelberg.
