Vilnius University was founded in 1579, making it the oldest and largest university in Lithuania and one of the oldest in Central and Eastern Europe. It teaches around 26,500 students, including about 3,400 from abroad, and is ranked first in Lithuania and among the world's top 500 by QS.

How tuition works

Fees are set per programme rather than as a single university-wide rate. This catalogue lists 46 of its degrees, almost all at master's level, with tuition mostly falling between €4,300 and €5,500 a year. Vilnius follows the European Credit Transfer System, so most master's programmes run two years.
