Bachelor in Archeology

For Bachelor in Archeology, tuition is 2,300 EUR per year.

Archeology is a bachelor's degree program at the University of Warsaw, based in Warszawa, Poland, running three years and taught in English, with yearly tuition of 2000 EUR. The program is designed to offer training in archaeological theory and practice, combining general arts and humanities courses with scientific courses such as Non-invasive Methods in Archaeology and Statistics. While the curriculum focuses on Mediterranean archaeology, it also provides the knowledge needed for students to take part in archaeological expeditions in other parts of the world. Fieldwork, including excavations and archaeological surveys, is a required part of the course of study, and the Institute of Archaeology offers a number of sites where students can gain practical experience. Further information about the program is available through the Institute of Archaeology. Archaeology as a field studies past human societies through the material remains they left behind, including artifacts, structures, and human and animal bones, and draws on methods from history, anthropology, geology, and the natural sciences. A bachelor's program in this field typically introduces students to excavation techniques, artifact analysis, archaeological theory, and regional archaeological traditions, alongside broader humanities coursework. Graduates commonly move into further study at the master's level, or into roles in museums, heritage and conservation organizations, cultural resource management, and archaeological fieldwork teams. Admission requirements depend on two factors: the diploma that gives the candidate access to higher education, which may be a Polish maturity diploma, an IB diploma, an EB diploma, or a foreign maturity diploma, and the recruitment path that applies to the candidate, since different terms apply to Polish nationals than to other candidates. Applicants should check which set of terms applies to them at www.irk.uw.edu.pl.
