The three-year Bachelor of Arts in Architecture at Detmolder Schule für Gestaltung is an interdisciplinary programme where students learn to plan and design architectural projects from the outset. Students study the principles of design, construction, and history of architecture, and develop technical skills in the school's workshops and labs. The programme is structured in three stages, with each focusing on developing different aspects of architectural competences.

Students start with fundamentals of design, construction, and architectural history in the Detmold campus's workshops and labs. In the second year, they tackle more complex design problems and technical challenges. The final year culminates in a Bachelor's thesis and a design project, which students independently develop and present.
