The first year starts with a module in Programming for Data Communications and Networks, where you will learn to develop programmes in Python. You will gain a broad understanding of how AI and Data Science intersect in a module dedicated to those domains, including the design, development, evaluation and deployment of models. You will study a range of machine learning algorithms in Machine Learning and Other AI Techniques, including neural networks and generative AI. The curriculum is rounded out with a module on Large Language Models, where you will develop a theoretical understanding of the architecture of LLMs and how they are trained. The programme also features a compulsory Undergraduate Individual Project, where you will demonstrate how effectively you have consolidated your skills, knowledge, and experience from other modules.
