About the Program

The Artist Blacksmith program at Fleming College is a unique 15-week certificate program that teaches students how to control fire and hot metal to create amazing pieces. This non-degree program is taught in English and is available to high school graduates. Students will learn from experienced faculty and have access to a well-equipped studio with propane forges, cutting and welding equipment, and specialty tools.

The curriculum includes hands-on courses such as Applied Design, Artistic Blacksmith - Projects I and II, and Forging Basic Fundamentals I and II. Students will also learn about design, drawing, and marketing/portfolio development. The program helps students develop their technical skills, creative thinking, and artistic integrity.
