To understand the forces that shape our contemporary world—from the traditions of the past to the ethical dilemmas of the present—requires a multidisciplinary lens. The Arts: Joint Honours (Humanities) programme offers a flexible, student-led framework where you define your own academic path by combining two distinct disciplines. Whether you are interrogating the nature of human behavior, exploring the cultural significance of music, or analyzing the impact of geography and religion on global policy, this degree emphasizes critical inquiry and advanced communication skills.

A Flexible, Multifaceted Degree

You will curate your own programme by selecting subjects from specific core areas, allowing you to bridge fields such as History, Philosophy, English, Gaeilge, Human Development, Music, Geography, and World Religions. This structure is designed for those who refuse to be confined to a single academic silo, providing a foundation for diverse career paths in diplomacy, education, policy development, and the creative industries. Beyond the classroom, students may choose to broaden their horizons through a competitive year-long INTRA work placement or an international study abroad year, transforming the degree into a four-year global experience.
