Bachelor in Associate of Arts (Associate Degree)

The Associate of Arts degree at Douglas College provides a strategic two-year pathway designed to facilitate seamless transfer into the third year of a four-year bachelor's degree at major research universities, including UBC and SFU. By utilizing the BC Transfer Guide, students curate a 60-credit academic profile that serves as a foundational bridge to higher education.

Specialized Academic Pathways

Students can tailor their 60-credit degree to align with specific interests, choosing from a wide range of departmental specializations—such as Anthropology, Criminology, Creative Writing, or Psychology—or thematic focuses like Environmental Studies and Intercultural International Studies. To earn a specialization, students must complete at least 18 credits within their chosen discipline, with a minimum of nine credits at the second-year level. This structure allows for both the breadth of a liberal arts education and the depth required for advanced undergraduate study. The program is flexible, offering both full-time and part-time study options across the Coquitlam and New Westminster campuses, and includes an optional Co-operative Education stream that allows students to alternate between academic terms and professional work experience.
