Automation and Robotics

The programme is delivered over two years of part-time blended study, split into four semesters. The first semester introduces academic and professional skills together with core engineering modules, while the second semester builds on those foundations with specialised subjects and a practical industry placement. A key feature is the Industry Module, where students work on-site to programme and operate a robotic arm. Automation and robotics address how machines sense, decide and act, covering topics such as electrical fundamentals, PLC control, networking, Python programming and computer-aided design, preparing graduates to devise, integrate and maintain automated systems across manufacturing, energy and medical sectors.
