Bachelor of Education

Tuition fees are 45,600 AED per year.

American University in the Emirates, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, offers a Bachelor of Education, taught in English and accredited by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation. Education programs at the undergraduate level prepare students to become teachers and, more broadly, to understand how learning happens and how instruction can be designed to support it. Typical subjects include educational psychology, curriculum design, classroom management, assessment methods, and the study of child and adolescent development. Students usually also complete coursework focused on specific teaching methods for particular subject areas or age groups, along with practical teaching experience that lets them apply theory in real classroom settings under supervision. A Bachelor of Education degree is generally structured to combine academic study with applied training, since teaching is a practice-based profession that draws on both theoretical understanding and hands-on classroom skills. Students often study topics such as inclusive education, the use of technology in teaching, lesson planning, and strategies for supporting learners with different needs and backgrounds. Graduates most commonly go on to teach in primary or secondary schools, though the degree also opens paths into curriculum development, educational administration, instructional design, and roles within ministries of education or private education companies. Some graduates continue toward postgraduate study in education, educational leadership, or a specific subject area, using the bachelor's degree as a foundation for further specialization. Because education systems continue to expand and evolve, particularly in fast-growing urban centers, trained educators remain in demand across public and private school sectors.
