Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

At American University in Dubai, tuition is 108,050 AED per year.

American University in Dubai, located in Dubai, offers a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, an undergraduate program focused on the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. Electrical engineering as a discipline covers how electrical systems are designed, analyzed, and maintained, spanning areas such as power generation and distribution, electronic circuits, control systems, and communication systems. Students typically study subjects including circuit analysis, electromagnetics, digital and analog electronics, signal processing, control systems, and power systems, supported by laboratory work that lets them build and test electrical circuits and systems firsthand. As the program advances, coursework often introduces students to more specialized areas such as renewable energy systems, telecommunications, embedded systems, and instrumentation. Because electrical systems underpin so much of modern infrastructure, from power grids to consumer electronics, electrical engineering graduates are prepared for roles across a wide range of industries. Common career paths include positions as electrical design engineer, power systems engineer, controls engineer, or telecommunications engineer, working for utility companies, engineering consultancies, manufacturing firms, or technology companies. Coursework typically balances theoretical understanding of electrical principles with the practical skills needed to design and troubleshoot real systems, preparing graduates to work on projects ranging from building electrical systems to industrial automation. Given the scale of infrastructure and energy development across the United Arab Emirates, electrical engineering graduates from institutions based in Dubai are often well positioned to contribute to power, construction, and technology projects across the region. The program is delivered in English at American University in Dubai and is accredited by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation.
