Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

The application deadline for the Feb 2027 intake is Feb 1, 2027. Tuition fees are 75,125 CAD for the whole program.

Students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program complete hands-on clinical placements in hospitals, community health centres, and long-term care facilities across Nova Scotia. They gain experience in diverse settings through practicum work that connects classroom learning to real patient care. The program prepares students for roles in public health, critical care, mental health, and other nursing fields.

The curriculum blends theory and practice using a concept-based approach. Students take courses in biology, chemistry, nursing science, and research. They also participate in a two-week international experience to learn about global health systems and engage in service-learning. Qualified students can pursue specialty certificates in oncology, acute care, or Indigenous health nursing.

Graduates are eligible to write the NCLEX-RN exam to become registered nurses. Admission is competitive and based on academic performance. Priority is given to Nova Scotia residents, with 10 seats reserved for African Nova Scotian students and 10 for L'nu Indigenous students.
