Benesh writing is a system for analysing, studying and transmitting movement, and a tool for creation and composition, contributing to research and the preservation of performing-arts heritage. This two-year first-cycle programme provides complementary skills and knowledge for careers related to dance and movement more broadly — dancer, teacher, coach, ballet master, choreographer, and related fields such as mime, psychomotor therapy, anthropology, research or circus arts.

The diploma awarded, per the Conservatoire's diploma structure, is the Diplôme de 1er cycle supérieur en Notation du Mouvement Benesh.
