The Architectural Engineering BEng (Hons) at Heriot-Watt University is accredited by two important industry bodies, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and the Energy Institute (EI), aligning with the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society. The curriculum provides opportunities to specialise in several areas, including Hydraulics and Hydrology, Surveying, Cost Modelling and Measurement, and Innovation in Construction Practice. Additionally, the programme offers access to specialist equipment, computing software, and labs, including a building services lab and acoustic labs. Applied learning opportunities, such as a week-long field course, allow students to gain practical experience working alongside professional engineers and tradesmen.
