Master in Biology – From Molecules to Organisms (MSc)

The MSc Biology: From Molecules to Organisms at Osnabrück University is a research-oriented programme focused on current areas of molecular and organismal biology. Research at Osnabrück spans structural and biophysical principles, cell biology, physiology, ecology, evolution, and animal behaviour. Students choose one of three tracks: General Biology; Evolution, Behaviour, and Ecology; or Cell and Molecular Biology, and build a flexible selection of modules within the chosen track. The programme runs four semesters and is open for both winter and summer entry. After an introductory lecture series in which all research groups present their work, students select their module combinations. Teaching combines lectures, seminars, and practice-oriented courses, with an excursion or internship module, a module involving supervision of Bachelor's students, and project work within two different research groups ahead of the Master's thesis.
