Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical Engineering applies principles of engineering and biology to the design of medical devices, diagnostic equipment, and healthcare technologies. Coursework typically covers anatomy and physiology, biomaterials, biomechanics, medical imaging, electronics, and signal processing, alongside core engineering subjects such as mathematics, physics, and computer programming. Students learn to bridge clinical needs with technical solutions, working on problems ranging from prosthetics and implants to laboratory instrumentation and rehabilitation technology. Laboratory work is a central part of the curriculum, giving students hands-on experience with equipment used in hospitals and research settings. Graduates pursue careers in medical device companies, hospitals, research laboratories, and regulatory bodies, or continue into graduate study in biomedical or related engineering fields. This bachelor's program runs for 4 years and is taught in English at Istanbul Medipol University in İstanbul, Turkey.
