Bachelor in B.Sc. Gesundheitspädagogik

Students of the B.Sc. Gesundheitspädagogik program at Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg will encounter the Didaktische Werkstatt, a space dedicated to practical teaching methods in health education. This program, lasting 6 semesters, addresses the intricate relationship between physical, psychological, and social factors influencing health and chronic diseases, as well as the methodologies for communicating health-related content.

Students will gain expertise in health competence, health promotion, prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation. The program's interdisciplinary and generalistic approach, combined with a strong focus on pedagogy, distinguishes it from other health science programs. Graduates are equipped for direct entry into the job market and are prepared for further qualification through various master’s programs.

The curriculum is divided into six study areas: foundational aspects of health pedagogy, practical applications in health pedagogy, methodologies in science, research, evaluation, didactics, and quality management, strategic approaches in professional studies and projects, inter-disciplinary studies, and study completion. The program includes a mandatory practical semester in the fourth semester, which can be completed in various health-related settings, including abroad.
