The BTS — Gestion de la PME (small and medium enterprise management) at Institution Saint Alyre in Clermont-Ferrand, France, is a two-year higher technician certificate that trains students to handle the wide range of administrative, financial, commercial, and human resources functions typical of small and medium-sized businesses. Coursework covers accounting and financial management, business law, human resources administration, customer and supplier relationship management, procurement, and the use of business management and accounting software. Written and oral professional communication — including correspondence, reports, meeting preparation, and client interaction — runs throughout the program. Internships in SMEs give students practical grounding in the day-to-day realities of managing a small business and dealing with diverse operational challenges.
