About the Program

The Master of Science in Business Informatics at Marburg University covers technical knowledge, skills, and methods drawn from business informatics, computer science, business administration, and mathematics. The programme prepares students to work independently at an advanced scientific level, apply and critically evaluate current research, and develop solutions for problems in digital professional environments across business, industry, and public service. Structured around 120 ECTS across four semesters, the curriculum comprises compulsory elective modules in Business Administration (18 ECTS) with three focal areas — Accounting and Finance; Market-Oriented Management; and Information and Innovation Management — alongside compulsory electives in Computer Science and Mathematics (24–30 ECTS), compulsory electives in Business Informatics (18–24 ECTS), practical and seminar modules (24–27 ECTS) including a year-long software project, and a Master's thesis (30 ECTS). Students may take exams in either English or German. Applicants must have been awarded at least 144 ECTS at the time of application. The programme starts in either the winter or summer semester and is based at Marburg University in Marburg, Germany.
