Bachelor in BUT - Informatique

Tuition fees are 178 EUR per year.

The BUT - Informatique (Computer Science) at the Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Reims in Reims, France, is a three-year bachelor-level degree conducted in French, with a September start and yearly tuition of 178 EUR. Computer science covers the theoretical principles and practical methods that underpin the design, development, and operation of software systems and digital infrastructure. Students gain a thorough grounding in programming — including object-oriented, procedural, and web-based paradigms — alongside algorithms, data structures, databases, computer networks, operating systems, and software engineering methodologies. The curriculum also addresses cybersecurity fundamentals, system administration, and the management of IT projects within agile and collaborative frameworks. A strong emphasis is placed on applied work: students carry out software development projects throughout their studies and complete professional internships in companies, public organisations, or technology services firms. This combination of technical depth and practical exposure prepares graduates for direct entry into the workforce as software developers, systems analysts, database administrators, network technicians, IT support engineers, or junior project managers. Computer science graduates are in demand across virtually every economic sector, from finance and healthcare to e-commerce, logistics, and public administration. The degree also provides a stepping stone for students wishing to continue toward a master's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, data science, or information systems management. Teaching throughout is in French.
