Roskilde University's Media and Communication programme offers a specialisation in Digital Media, where students learn to analyse, execute, and lead communication tasks anchored in digital media. The module Digital Media Theory is a key part of this programme.

This master's degree explores the complexities of communication in a media-saturated world, focusing on the theoretical, methodological, and practical competencies required to evaluate digital devices, platforms, and systems. The programme covers crucial competencies in corporate and global communication, enabling students to address the impacts of digitalisation and datafication on communication practices across different national and cultural contexts.

Students can specialise in areas such as Digital Media, Corporate Communication, and Global Communication. The third semester offers opportunities for internships with partner organisations or studying abroad at partner universities like the University of Leeds, Freie Universität Berlin, and RMIT University Melbourne, among others.

The programme prepares graduates for roles such as Brand Manager, Social Media Strategist, and Communications Consultant, equipping them with skills to evaluate people’s uses and experiences of media technologies and assess associated media strategies.
