PhD in Chemical Engineering Program

The Chemical Engineering Program is a doctoral course offered by Hiroshima University, taught in English across a three-year period with intakes in April and October. Hiroshima University is one of the largest and most comprehensive universities in Japan, organized around twelve schools and four graduate schools alongside a university hospital and affiliated research institutes, and it has been recognized for its global education initiatives. Within that structure, the Chemical Engineering Program trains doctoral candidates to carry out independent research on chemical processes, reaction engineering, and industrial-scale production methods. Typical areas of study in a chemical engineering doctorate include process design, transport phenomena, reaction kinetics, separation technology, and process control, together with a supervised dissertation project developed under a faculty advisor.
