Students with a strong foundation in mathematics and physics, and who are eager to apply theoretical knowledge in practical laboratory settings, will thrive in the Chemistry (B.Sc.) program at the Universität des Saarlandes. This program, which spans six semesters, covers all core areas of chemistry, including Anorganische, Physikalische, Analytische, and Organische Chemie, along with essential modules such as Mathematik and Physik.

Practical experience is a cornerstone of the curriculum

: Around half of the 180 Credit Points (CP) are dedicated to experimental work in laboratories, ensuring students gain hands-on experience. The program also includes a choice of elective modules such as Biochemie, Industrielle Chemie, and Materialchemie. Students have the opportunity to pursue a deutsch-französischen Doppelabschluss in cooperation with the École Européenne de Chimie, Polymères et Matériaux in Strasbourg or the École Nationale Supérieure de Chemie in Rennes, enhancing their international exposure and language skills. Upon completion, graduates can enter various fields, including chemical production, technical sales, consulting, and regulatory bodies, or pursue further studies in Master programs such as Biotechnologie or Materialchemie at the Universität des Saarlandes.
