CLI-GXNU Study Abroad in China

At Chinese Language Institute (CLI), tuition fees are 2,280 USD, and the application deadline for the Jun 2027 intake is May 1, 2027.

The CLI-GXNU Study Abroad in China program is a non-degree program, lasting 9 weeks, that offers students a study abroad experience in China. Students are enrolled at Guangxi Normal University and also attend one-on-one Chinese language training at the Chinese Language Institute.

The program includes coursework in Chinese language and culture, as well as one-on-one language instruction. Students can choose between a standard or intensive program, with the intensive program offering more hours of one-on-one language training. The program also includes weekly activities and excursions, such as hikes and photography trips.

After completing the program, students can pursue careers as international business consultants, diplomatic assistants, foreign language journalists, cultural advisors, or academic researchers, working in fields such as international relations, business, media, or education.

The Chinese Language Institute (CLI) in Guilin was founded in 2009 and focuses on immersive Chinese language instruction framed by cultural understanding. CLI offers tailored programs for learners at different stages, from intensive one-on-one tuition to group classes and custom study options. Located in a scenic city known for karst landscapes and river valleys, the institute emphasizes fast, practical progress in Mandarin while situating learning within everyday life and regional culture.

CLI's campus includes private classrooms, student study areas, and on-site accommodation with meal options, creating a convenient living-learning environment for international students. Small class sizes and experienced instructors enable personalized lesson plans that address speaking, listening, reading, and writing goals. The institute also organizes extracurricular activities, field trips, and culture-immersion events so learners can practice language skills in authentic contexts and build confidence outside the classroom.

Practical support at CLI includes guidance on living in China, help with transportation and local logistics, and options for homestays or off-campus housing when preferred. The program structure is suited to travelers, exchange students, and degree-seekers who want measurable language gains in a short timeframe. Prospective students seeking focused, immersive Mandarin study in a supportive community will find CLI an efficient and welcoming place to grow linguistically and culturally.
