Clinical Psychology

This course at the International Psychoanalytic University Berlin provides a first systematic overview of clinical psychology in both its scientific and applied dimensions. Topics include the definition and scope of clinical psychology, mental health professions, ethical issues, psychological attitudes and empathy, stigma, and models of mental disorder. The course also covers classifications of mental disorders, psychological crisis and stress, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, and other significant disorder types. It closes with a section on treatments for persons with mental disorders and research issues in clinical psychology. The course is held in Berlin, Germany, at the International Psychoanalytic University Berlin.
