Coding with Syntax for Educators

Students will spend each week working on hands-on programming tasks, using a modern language to create and test solutions to real-world problems. Laboratory sessions and online workshops develop skills in abstraction, decomposition and algorithmic thinking, while reflective assignments link these concepts to classroom practice.

The programme is a 10-credit Level 8 special purpose award, delivered as a blended, part-time course at the Letterkenny campus. It combines face-to-face lectures with virtual learning to give learners flexible access to resources and support.

Designed for teachers who need to integrate coding into the curriculum, the award builds technical competence and provides the pedagogical insight required to teach computing confidently. Successful graduates can apply their new skills directly in school settings.
