    Introduction

Oberlin brings college and conservatory students into one community, with daily life shaped by discussion, performance, research, and campus activities. Students move between Finney Chapel, Mudd Library, Wilder Hall, the Conservatory building, and Tappan Square. Campus scenes include a koi pond, green spaces, a museum gallery, a greenhouse, solar panels, athletic facilities, and the Cat in the Cream, where students perform music.

The Arts and Sciences curriculum covers fields including anthropology, biology, chemistry, computer science, economics, environmental science, geosciences, global health, languages, literature, mathematics, and physics. Students can also study data science, cinema and media, creative writing, dance, business, education studies, food studies, and critical AI studies. Oberlin offers majors, minors, and integrative concentrations, along with options such as the BA+BFA in Integrated Arts and a 3-2 engineering program. The College and Conservatory also offer opportunities to combine academic and musical study.

The Conservatory includes programs in instruments such as cello, clarinet, flute, harp, and double bass, as well as composition, jazz-related study, conducting, and historical instruments. Some areas offer graduate study, performance diplomas, or artist diplomas. Students interested in an international study experience can consider the breadth of Arts and Sciences subjects alongside conservatory training, interdisciplinary programs, laboratory research, performances, and campus organizations. Oberlin's setting supports both focused academic work and participation in a close campus community.
