PhD in Composition – Doctorate SACRe

At Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP), tuition fees are 521 EUR per year, and applications close 2026-05-05.

The SACRe doctoral programme, created in 2012 by six institutions (CNSAD-PSL, CNSMDP, ENSAD, La Fémis, ENSBA and ENS-PSL) within Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL), is aimed at composer-artists as well as scientists. Its aim is to train a new generation of creative artists in research and to stimulate exchange between the sciences (human, social and exact) and creation in all its forms. Doctoral training lasts three years by default.

The diploma awarded is a Doctorate in Art and Design (SACRe), delivered under the joint PSL framework rather than by CNSMDP alone.
