This programme is designed for currently enrolled University of California Irvine students who need a custom course of study not covered by existing Information and Computer Sciences majors. It allows students to create a four-year plan that aligns with their academic and career goals. The major requires approval of a detailed proposal outlining course selection and rationale. Students must complete at least 48 upper-division units in ICS, Computer Science, Informatics, or Statistics.

Students must submit a proposed four-year plan with at least 48 upper-division ICS, Computer Science, Informatics, or Statistics units. The major requires approval from the ICS Associate Dean for Student Affairs and follows University Requirements.

Only currently enrolled UCI students may apply. Applications can be submitted no earlier than the fall quarter of the sophomore year. Students must submit a proposal with a four-year plan and rationale for why their study plan does not fit existing ICS majors.

On-campus, full-time, typically four years. For international students, tuition is above the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 26% of applicants.
