About Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Computer and Information Systems

This two-year program prepares students for careers in software engineering, web development, cybersecurity, data analytics, and information systems. Students study computing fundamentals and build technical skills through one of three specialized streams: Data Analytics, Emerging Technology, or Cybersecurity. The program is for individuals who already hold a bachelor's degree and want to enter the technology field with practical, industry-focused training.

In the first year, students take core courses in programming, web development, systems analysis, databases, and networking. In the second year, students choose a stream and complete advanced courses tailored to that area. Each stream includes hands-on projects and an applied research project in the final semester. Students can also join the optional co-op program to gain paid, full-time work experience while studying.

To graduate, students must complete 60 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.00. At least 42 credits must be completed at Douglas College within seven years. If the co-op option is chosen, students need 69 credits and must plan ahead. Admission requires a recognized undergraduate degree and English proficiency if prior studies were not in English.
