Master in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence

Tuition costs 295 EUR per year.

Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence covers the theoretical foundations and practical applications of computing, with particular emphasis on systems that can learn from data or perform tasks associated with human intelligence. Students typically study algorithms, programming, data structures, machine learning, and topics specific to artificial intelligence such as natural language processing, computer vision, and neural networks, alongside foundational coursework in mathematics and computational theory. The discipline draws on computer science, mathematics, and statistics to address how software systems can process information, recognize patterns, and make decisions. Graduates commonly pursue careers in software development, machine learning engineering, data science, and research roles across technology companies, research institutions, and organizations in nearly every sector that now relies on computational tools. Because artificial intelligence is applied across such a wide range of industries, from healthcare to finance to manufacturing, the skills developed in this field have broad relevance. This master's program in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence is offered by Università degli Studi di Palermo in Palermo, Italy, and is taught in English, allowing an international group of students to pursue advanced study in computing and artificial intelligence together. The program runs for two years, matching the standard length of second-cycle degrees within the Italian higher education system. Students entering this kind of program generally hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related quantitative field, given the technical demands of the coursework. Palermo, the capital of Sicily, is home to a large university offering study in a distinct regional and cultural setting within Italy. Graduates often continue into technical careers or further research in computing and artificial intelligence.
