The Master of Computer Science (MCS) provides intensive preparation in analyzing, designing, and applying computing systems to solve complex issues in areas like healthcare and cybersecurity. It welcomes applicants with strong math or programming aptitude or backgrounds in computer science, mathematics, business, or related fields. Students work closely with faculty who consult for Fortune 100 companies and have expertise in AI, machine learning, and distributed systems.

The program offers a thesis track requiring 24 credits of coursework and 6 credits of thesis work, or a non-thesis track requiring 33 credits of coursework, an independent research project, and a qualifying exam.

Graduates are prepared for careers in research, industry, or government, or for doctoral studies.

Applicants require a bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Required materials include an online application, statement of purpose (500-1,000 words), autobiographical statement (500-750 words), official transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and a resume or CV. GRE scores are not required.

Full-time, on-campus format. For international students, tuition is well above the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 35% of applicants.
