Each week you will attend online lectures and tutorials, complete practical coding exercises, and take part in virtual labs that simulate sensor data and vehicle dynamics. The programme includes occasional on-campus workshops in Sligo, where you will handle real hardware, and a 30-credit industrial research project that ties together the theory and practice of advanced driver assistance systems.

It is aimed at engineers who already hold a bachelor’s degree in electronic, computer, mechanical or mechatronic engineering and who wish to specialise in the technologies that power smart and autonomous vehicles. You should be comfortable with mathematics, programming, and have an interest in vehicle systems, artificial intelligence and sensor technologies.

The part-time format spreads the 90 ECTS credits over 2.5 years, allowing you to study while remaining in employment.
