Bachelor in Creative Writing (Bachelor's)

Randolph College in Lynchburg, Virginia, brings together a liberal arts curriculum, small classes, and professors who teach their own courses rather than graduate students. The college offers 42 academic majors, 52 minors, five pre-professional programs, and BA, BS, BFA, and graduate degrees. Its TAKE2 curricular model organizes study around two courses per half-mester, giving students time to focus deeply on coursework while pursuing interests outside the classroom.

The liberal arts foundation develops critical thinking, clear and accurate writing and speaking, quantitative reasoning, ethical and effective use of technology, creativity, collaboration, and independent problem-solving. Students also study the heritage of more than one society and consider the power and limitations of knowledge. The Randolph Innovative Student Experience provides every student with a $2,000 grant for research, creative work, experiential learning, or other scholarly pursuits.

Campus resources and activities include the Ethyl Science and Mathematics Center, Symposium for Artists and Scholars, Maier Museum of Art, Endstation Theatre, athletics, and a campus store. Students considering Randolph can take a tour, meet students, talk with faculty, and explore the community in Lynchburg. All students receive financial aid.

Students study original composition in literary forms such as short stories, poetry, novels, and other forms. They also learn technical and editorial skills and criticism.

The field also covers marketing finished manuscripts. Graduates can use writing, editing, and criticism skills in literary work and manuscript preparation.

For international students, tuition is around the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 95% of applicants.
