Graduates of the 3-year bachelor's programme in data engineering at UiA go on to develop digital solutions and work in areas such as cybersecurity and software development. Informations- og kommunikasjonsteknologi (IKT) is central to society, essential for the development, operation, and security of digital systems. The demand for qualified professionals is high, and with a data engineering degree from UiA, you will be highly qualified for exciting and interesting tasks in digital technology.

You can specialize in software development (software processes, design and architecture, modeling, databases, and internet technology) or cybersecurity (technologies and processes for protecting systems, networks, programs, and devices from cyberattacks).

The curriculum covers modules in both specializations, with the software development track focusing on developing programs and systems for microcontrollers, handheld devices, computers, and cloud-based solutions. The cybersecurity track emphasizes cybersecurity and security knowledge, with a focus on securing IT systems and protecting them from cyber-attacks.
