Dental Nursing

Dental nursing focuses on the practical and organisational aspects of dental care, from managing instruments and materials to supporting the dentist during procedures and maintaining patient records. It deals with infection control, radiography, oral health promotion and the communication skills needed to reassure patients with dental anxiety. The programme introduces the scientific basis of oral health, the legal and ethical framework for the profession, and the technical skills required in a modern dental practice.

You will spend each week alternating between laboratory sessions, simulated clinics and supervised placement in a dental surgery.

The course is suited to applicants who are detail-oriented, enjoy teamwork and wish to start a career in general dental surgeries, public health clinics or specialist dental settings. Graduates are prepared to take up roles as dental nurses, assisting with patient care, instrument preparation, sterilisation, radiographic imaging and administrative duties, and can progress to further study or specialised training.
