Master in Deutsch + Geschichte

Graduates of the Deutsch+Geschichte programme at the University of Bamberg often go on to careers in teaching, publishing, and journalism. This programme is unique in that it equally weights the two subjects – German and History – and follows the structure of the Bayerische Lehramtsprüfungsordnung (LPO I).

You will study at the University of Bamberg, known for its excellent support and networking opportunities. The Zentrum für Mittelalterstudien (ZEMAS), led by Prof. Dr. Gesine Mierke, offers interdisciplinary medieval studies and a comprehensive hand library. The programme includes a mix of academic and practical modules, such as the Pädagogisch-didaktisches Praktikum and the Schulpraktikum, along with a written thesis (Zulassungsarbeit).
