Master in Development Economics (MDE)

Each week you will attend seminars and workshops that blend economic theory with practical policy analysis, complete econometric modelling assignments, and work on case studies that reflect development challenges in low-income countries. Core modules such as Development Microeconomics and Applied Development Economics provide the analytical foundation, while optional courses let you explore growth, open-economy macroeconomics or specialised electives. If required, you will also undertake an introductory econometrics course to ensure you can handle quantitative research.

Graduates move into roles as policymakers, researchers, consultants or managers in government departments, NGOs, banks, private firms and research institutes.
