The Digital Process Engineering Master's programme at RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau is a four-semester degree for Bachelor's graduates in chemical or biochemical process engineering. It applies digital methods to chemical process engineering problems, covering scientific computing, data visualisation, scientific machine learning, data analysis and design of experiments, and modelling, simulation, and optimisation in process engineering. A total of 120 ECTS credits must be acquired. The programme begins with a bridge semester in which any missing process engineering fundamentals are addressed. As an alternative, students who are already familiar with the relevant content may complete a 15 or 30 CP industrial internship during this period. Semesters two and three contain compulsory modules, compulsory elective modules from focus areas including reaction and fluid process engineering, particle process engineering, bioprocess engineering, and thermodynamics, along with further electives. Semester four is reserved for the Master's thesis. The programme does not focus on process technology in the sense of control and automation.
