The Doctoral Programme in Education, Schooling and Learning trains researchers and specialists with in-depth theoretical and methodological expertise across a broad range of disciplines. The programme spans general education, philosophy of education, sociology of education, adult education, educational psychology, special education, early childhood education and care, teacher education, general and subject-specific didactics, educational neuroscience, craft science, home economics, speech-language pathology, and cognitive science. Doctoral research within the programme addresses the societal dimensions of education systems and institutions, as well as learning, development, wellbeing, and teaching at individual and group levels. Theses can be qualitative, quantitative, or multi-methodological in scope. Graduates develop an understanding of the connection between their research and current domestic and global trends, including digitalisation, migration, inequality, climate change, and biodiversity loss.
