The Doctoral Programme in Information Technology offers doctoral education across science, business and engineering fields related to ICT. Students can pursue a Doctor of Philosophy, a Doctor of Science in Economics and Business Administration, or a Doctor of Science in Technology, depending on their chosen specialisation. Five specialisations are available: Information Systems Science, Computing and Education, Computer Science and Engineering, Computational Science, and Cognitive Science. The doctoral degree is focused on research leading to a doctoral thesis, and at least 30 ECTS credits of doctoral studies must also be completed. Study can be undertaken full-time or part-time. The programme begins in January 2027 and runs for four years. Graduates leave with strong analytical and critical thinking skills suited to research and teaching positions as well as expert, development and management roles in their field. The programme is offered at Jyväskylän yliopisto in Jyväskylä, Finland.
