Since 2009, the Syndicat Mixte Baie de Somme Grand Littoral Picard and the Université de Picardie Jules Verne have collaborated to create a Diplôme Universitaire “Guide Marquenterre Nature” at the Parc du Marquenterre. This programme validates the competencies of seasonal guides and recognises the ability of permanent staff to transfer their skills within the reserves. Students are taught to master fundamental knowledge defining the major animal families, the modalities of welcoming groups in a protected area, and the biological and physio-chemical phenomena of the natural environment. Modules include Administration and Nature Management, Ecology, Zoology and Botany of the Marquenterre, and Formation au Terrain, where students observe and analyze the natural landscape.
